The entries with their individual voting panels are below, the comments are at the end and easily reached by clicking on the “Post a comment” text, above the blog title, (you don’t have to enter any text!). If you want to reach the beginning of the images click on the black display bar above the site title.

Alternatively if you can remember the name – or part of it – of the image you’re looking for, enter it into the “search” box at the bottom of the Quick Links menu and it should find details for that search.

To enlarge the image click on the image and a “hand” image will appear, if you click on the image again then it will enlarge and show a “+” symbol, if you click on the image yet again it will enlarge further and show a “-” symbol, and finally if you click again with the “-“, the image will reduce in size!

Sunday Summer BBQ!

We started our club weekend with the car festival in Camberley yesterday, a very, very little of that later, and today we had our climax of the BBQ, with many thanks to Jean and Roger for hosting, ably assisted by Janet, Mike, Jenny, Andrea and Bernard, and sincere apologies to anyone whom I’ve missed.
Today the rain held off for the event, but not during Friday night/Saturday morning, where the main awning blew over and travelled several feet into the flower bed during the wind and rain, to be rescued by our hosts also during the wind and rain, and then tied down with heavy chairs and the gas tank from the BBQ burner! Amazingly none of that was visible today though, the sun shone for most of the time, the food was ample and delicious, (also gluten free options, thank you from those of us who have to take that into consideration), and the conversation nimble, ranging from holidays in France and Namibia, (Mike and Evelyn Morley and Jean and Roger), very briefly Brexit, electric bikes and scooters and their regulation, gardening, trees, and somewhere in between CC competitions. I’ve added some images below, my apologies if you aren’t in them and wanted to be.

Finally and briefly, from the car festival yesterday, a photo of Allan, taking shelter in the gallery just after a short burst of rain.

Where’s the site Quick Links?

We moved them up to the right-hand end of the main site menu-bar up there ^^^^^

That means they are still there when you scroll down the page.

They are also over there at the side >>>>>>>

but now below the Recent Comments and Recent Posts (and that was really the idea – so the items we know you look at for seeing recent activity are there at the top).

Let’s see how we/you get on.

2018 Site upgrade

I suspect you know this since you are here (!!) but the club website has now been upgraded (i.e. much more than a simple update!). The last major upgrade was 2013, so this has been a long time coming.

The original members part (i.e. where you are now) has been brought up-to-date using latest versions of the various software components, and we have taken the opportunity to restyle the site as black-text on white-background as you can see. Various menus have also been shuffled around. All the main functionality and site components are still here in familiar places, but some older content is no longer linked through the menu system.

The public site ( now at: https://wcccdev.org.uk ) has been totally revamped. This has both brought a fresh look to it as well as making it easier to maintain.

Both the public and members site will now show as secure sites with the padlock sign (or similar) in your browser.

I wish to express my gratitude to Steve Hurst for the many hours he has put in doing the installation on the new server platform. I, with the help of Shona Griffiths, have then been doing all the content updates and restyling.

There are still some things to do but those will be completed as time progresses and none should change the base functionality. New posts and competition judge scoring pages will appear as the season progresses.

Data protection

Prior to enactment of EU GDPR in UK on 25th May and as announced at 2nd May AGM, have now updated the public website with our Data Protection Policy.

The key Data Protection procedural documents to be followed by the Committee and others in possession of club data are posted in a new menu under Club Documents above.

The new Registration Form to be used for Season 2018-2019 will be GDPR compliant. The draft version of that can also be seen via above link. The version we use may not be exactly the same as you currently see.
